German regulator exempts N Stream from EU directive for 20 years
MOSCOW, May 20 (PRIME) -- Germany's Federal Network Agency (BNA) has exempted the Nord Stream gas pipeline from the rules of the E.U. gas directive for 20 years, operator Nord Stream AG said in a statement on Wednesday.
“On May 20, the Federal Network Agency granted exemption from the major principles of the E.U. gas directive to the Nord Stream for 20 years,” the company said.
The Nord Stream export gas pipeline, launched in 2011, delivers gas from Russian to Europe via the Baltic Sea. Its capacity amounts to 55 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
